Salary Range: $70,000 - $109,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop tooling, dies, jigs, and fixtures for manufacturing processes.
  • Optimize existing tooling for performance, efficiency, and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve tooling-related issues and failures on the production floor.
  • Collaborate with production and design teams to ensure tooling meets product specifications and manufacturing requirements.
  • Manage tooling maintenance, repair, and replacement schedules.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for tooling problems and implement preventative measures.
  • Evaluate and recommend new tooling technologies, materials, and manufacturing methods.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of tooling design principles, fabrication, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software for tooling design and analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve tooling performance issues.
  • Knowledge of materials science, metallurgy, and heat treatment for tool steels.
  • Experience with continuous improvement methodologies in a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with advanced simulation software (e.g., FEA, mold flow analysis).
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt certification or equivalent continuous improvement experience.
  • Familiarity with additive manufacturing processes for tooling applications.
  • Proficiency in a programming language for automation or data analysis (e.g., Python, VBA).
