HR Manager | Traverse City, MI

Salary Range: $80,000 - $125,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Traverse City seeking HR Managers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with manufacturing goals.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention for production and office staff.
• Manage employee relations, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure compliance with all labor laws and safety regulations.
• Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management programs.
• Facilitate training and development initiatives for all levels of employees.
• Drive continuous improvement in HR processes and employee engagement.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years in a management role within a manufacturing environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state labor laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, OSHA, FLSA).
• Proven experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and HRIS utilization.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and compliance within a manufacturing setting.

Bonus Qualifications

• SHRM-SCP certification
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
• Demonstrated ability to implement and manage HRIS systems
• Proven track record of successful labor relations negotiation
• Bilingual in Spanish or other relevant languages
